Home Sweet Home: A Travel-sized Dollhouse

If you stalk here regularly, you know that I like creating scenes on cards or altered items.  I love grasses and cloudy skies and am a sucker for anything woodgrain.  Incorporating houses into paper crafts is quickly becoming a huge trend and I couldn't wait to join in on the fun!  This week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger is a sweet-as-pie plush house that incorporates many crafty trends (birds, woodgrain, red/aqua, rulers, etc.).  I was originally going to make a house on a card, but then I found a darling alterable suitcase at my local craft store for only $3.00 and instantly imagined a portable dollhouse for my 5 y.o. daughter.   Here is what has been going on in my craft room for the past few days:
This is the view from the front.  Like the trigger, I stuck with a red roof and woodgrain door.  I added a little ruler for the chimney, too.  I think it is the details that make this house so fun.  My daughter gave me some input on what she wanted and a mailbox was a definite must!  I have a lot of pictures, so I will keep the writing short.

This is what the box looked like at the beginning, right after I cut the windows and doors.
This is the back of the house.
A little bike parked at the back of the house.
I'll bet you can guess what song gets stuck in my head whenever I look at this little pup peeking out of the window...
Front door detail.  The window and mailbox stamps are from Market Street Stamps.

Front roof detail.
This is the inside of the house, complete with resident Zoobles.  My daughter requested that there be a living room, bathroom, dining room and a bedroom.   She helped me pick out the wallpaper, too.
This is the bedroom.
This is the bathroom.  The floors are made with corrugated packaging and covered with MME woodgrain print.

This is the dining room, complete with curtains.
This is the living room.  I put trim around the doors and windows.  I stopped just shy of putting in baseboards and crown molding. :)
The door opens and closes so Zoobles are free to come and go as they please.

This is the side of the house.  I created the picket fence by manipulating a tag and a rectangle in Cricut Craftroom.
And here's the happy Miss playing with her custom playhouse!

Happy trails to you,

-Amanda

Talk about attention to detail. Obviously made with love. You daughter does know how lucky she is to have such a talented Mom ???
Don't think that we are the same generation, but the song the pup reminded me of was "How much is that doggie in the window, ruf, ruf"...
